On June 1, 2022, Irina Lungu will make her debut as Imogene in Il pirata at the Opernhaus Zürich, in a performance semi-staged by Natascha Ursuliak and conducted by Maestro Iván López-Reynoso. She will sing alongside Andrew Owens in the title role and Konstantin Shushakov as Ernesto. There will be two additional performances on June 6 and 10, 2022.

This is Irina’s third Bellini role, following Giulietta in I Capuleti e i Montecchi, which she performed at the Teatro Filarmonico of Verona and Elvira in I puritani, which she debuted in a joint production in Modena, Reggio Emilia and Piacenza and later reprise in the 2020/21 season at the Oviedo Opera.

Irina Lungu has already graced the stage of the Opernhaus Zürich as the eponymous heroines of La traviata and Lucia di Lammermoor, and will return this coming July for her role debut as Alice Ford in Falstaff.
