Michael Volle will take part in the Maifestspiele in Wiesbaden as Wotan in Das Rheingold on May 25 and in Die Walküre the following evening, and as Der Wanderer in Siegfried on May 28, 2024, in a Ring cycle production by Uwe Eric Laufenberg and under the musical direction of Michael Güttler. In Das Rheingold, he will share the stage with Katrin Wundsam as Fricka, Betsy Horne as Freia, KS Thomas de Vries as Alberich, Thomas Blondelle as Loge, Gunther Birger Radde as Donner; in Die Walküre his colleagues will be Manuela Uhl as Brünnhilde, Betsy Horne as Sieglinde, Marco Jentzsch as Siegmund, Katrin Wundsam as Fricka, and Young Doo Park as Hunding, while in Siegfried he will sing alongside Andreas Schager in the title role, Manuela Uhl as Brünnhilde and Paul Kaufmann as Mime, among others.

Michael Volle has long been one of the most acclaimed and requested Wotans of our time, having sung the role at the Metropolitan Opera, Teatro alla Scala, Wiener Staatsoper, and Staatsoper Berlin, to name but a few.
