On September 13, 16, and 17, Michael Volle returns to the Teatro alla Scala for three performances of Arnold Schönberg’s Gurre-Lieder with Riccardo Chailly conducting the Orchestra of the Teatro alla Scala. He will sing alongside Camilla Nylund, Andreas Schager, Okka von der Damerau, and Norbert Ernst.

The German baritone made his La Scala debut in the 1997/98 season as Papageno in Die Zauberflöte, subsequently returning for Œdipus Rex, Schubert’s Szenes aus Goethes Faust, as Wotan in Das Rheingold, as Wozzeck, Hans Sachs in Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg, Orest in Elektra, Jochanaan in Salome, and several concerts and recitals.
