On June 8, 11 and 14, 2019 Irina Lungu will perform Norina in Don Pasquale at the Wiener Staatsoper. Roberto De Candia will sing the title role, Dmitry Korchak Ernesto, and Orhan Yildiz Malatesta. Enrique Mazzola will conduct the production, which will feature staging by Irina Brook.

This is Irina Lungu’s fourth role at the Wiener Staatsoper, where she has performed every season since her house debut in September 2015 as Violetta in La traviata. Ms. Lungu’s other roles at this prestigious opera house have included Donna Anna in Don Giovanni and Elettra in Idomeneo.

Ms. Lungu’s upcoming engagements upon the conclusion of Don Pasquale include La traviata (Violetta) in a new Franco Zeffirelli staging at the Arena di Verona followed by performances of the same role next season at the Wiener Staatsoper, as well as Il viaggo a Reims (Corinna) at the Sydney Opera House and La bohème (Mimì) at the Opéra de Monte-Carlo, among others.
