After receiving rave reviews in the same production when it was first unveiled last June, Gabriela Scherer will reprise the role of Senta in Der fliegende Holländer at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein in Dūsseldorf in the Vasily Barkhatov staging led by Harry Ogg. She will share the stage with James Rutherford in the title role, Hans-Peter König as Daland, Jussi Myllys as Erik, Katarzyna Kuncio as Mary and Andrés Sulbarán as the Steuermann. The premiere will occur on January 23, 2025, with additional performances on January 23, 26; February 1; March 1 and 16; and April 5.

Senta has become a signature role for the Swiss soprano, who sang it just last season in two new productions: one at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein and the other at the Teatro Nacional de São Carlos in Lisbon and the Staatsoper Hamburg.
