This evening and tomorrow, Irina Lungu will sing the soprano solo part of Benjamin Britten’s “War Requiem” at the Ljubljana Winter Festival under the musical direction of Charles Dutoit, alongside Ian Bostridge, Matthias Goerne, and the Wiener Sängerknaben. Ars – RTV SLO will broadcast the February 21st concert at 6 p.m. CET of that day.

Irina Lungu is rapidly becoming one of the foremost interpreters of this pinnacle of twentieth-century music. She first sang it to rave reviews last summer under Teodor Currentzis on a German tour and reprised it a few months later in Hamburg.
