PIETARI INKINEN | DRP | SAARBRÜCKEN

On May 8, conductor Pietari Inkinen will lead the Deutsche Radio Philharmonie in a special concert dedicated to combating antisemitism and fostering interfaith dialogue. He will be joined by violinist Viviane Hagner and Benjamin Chait, cantor of the Synagogue Community of Saar. The performance will take place in the Großer Sendesaal of SR in Saarbrücken and will be broadcast live on SR Kultur Radio at 19:30. The evening’s program includes Pavel Haas’ Study for Strings, Erich Wolfgang Korngold’s Violin Concerto, Gideon Klein’s Partita for Strings, and Korngold’s Theme and Variations, Op. 42. A special reading of Dietrich Bonhoeffer’s poem Von guten Mächten treu und still umgeben, written during his resistance against the Nazi regime, will also be featured. Held in commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II in Europe, the concert pays tribute to artistic resistance and the enduring strength of memory. All proceeds will support Growing4Respect, an interfaith initiative dedicated to building dialogue, understanding, and friendship between Jewish and Muslim youth.
