RICCARDO MASSI IN MANON LESCAUT AT THE BOLSHOI THEATRE MOSCOW
December 11, 2019
On December 11, 2019, Riccardo Massi will return to the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow as Renato Des Grieux in Manon Lescaut in a production by Adolf Shapiro and under the musical direction of Keri-Lynn Wilson. He will sing alongside Asmik Grigorian in the title role, Elchin Azizov as Lescaut and Alexander Naumenko as Geronte De Ravoir.
This marks Riccardo Massi’s fourth participation in the Adolf Shapiro production, having starred in it in the 2016/2017 season when it was first unveiled, as well as in the following season and subsequently in November 2018. The Italian singer, who also interpreted the role of the Puccini hero in a new production at the Berlin State Opera during the 2016/2017 season, will perform it for the first time in his native Italy at the Teatro Carlo Felice Genoa in June 2020.
After this Moscow Manon Lescaut, Riccardo Massi’s upcoming engagements include Radamès in Aida at the Mikhailovsky Theatre St Petersburg, Manrico in Il trovatore and Cavaradossi in Tosca at the Bavarian State Theatre Munich and a role debut as Zamoro in Alzira at the Opéra Royal de Wallonie-Liège, Liège.
