JACQUELYN WAGNER IN DIE FLEDERMAUS AT THE DEUTSCHE OPER BERLIN

On December 20, 2019, Jacquelyn Wagner will sing the role of Rosalinde in Die Fledermaus at the Deutsche Oper Berlin, in a production by Rolando Villazón and under the musical direction of Maestro Stefan Blunier, the first of a series of three performances running through January 2, 2020. She will share the stage with Burkhard Ulrich as Eisenstein, Alexandra Hutton as Adele, Robert Watson as Alfred and Jana Kurucová as Prince Orlofsky.

 

The American-born soprano, who has already appeared as Rosalinde in several theaters such as the Frankfurt Opera and the Opéra du Rhin Strasbourg, was a member at the Deutsche Oper Berlin, where she has sung numerous and diverse roles such as Pamina in Die Zauberflöte, Contessa in Le nozze di Figaro, Micaëla in Carmen‚ Musetta in La bohème‚ Gretel in Hänsel und Gretel, Marei in Der Traumgörge and the soprano soloist in Bach’s Matthäuspassion. She later returned as a freelancer as Violetta in La traviata, Contessa in Le nozze di Figaro and Donna Anna in Don Giovanni.

After this Berlin Fledermaus, Jacquelyn Wagner’s upcoming engagements include Donna Anna in Don Giovanni and Fiordiligi in Così fan tutte at the Opéra National de Paris, her debut in the title role of Handel’s Alcina in a new production at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein, Mahler’s Symphony no. 2 with the Wiener Philharmoniker at the Vienna Musikverein, and Beethoven’s Große Akademie von 1808 at the Wiener Konzerthaus.
