Ekaterina Bakanova makes her role debut as Blanche de la Force in Francis Poulenc’s Dialogues des Carmélites at the Teatro Regio Torino, in Robert Carsen’s celebrated staging conducted by Yves Abel. Performances are scheduled for March 31, and April 2, 4, 8, 10, and 12. The cast includes Valentin Thill as Chevalier de la Force, Jean-François Lapointe as the Marquis de la Force, Sylvie Brunet-Grupposo as Madame de Croissy, Sally Matthews as Madame Lidoine, Antoinette Dennefeld as Mère Marie de l’Incarnation, Francesca Pia Vitale as Sœur Constance, Lorrie Garcia as Mère Jeanne de l’Enfant-Jésus, Martina Myskohlid as Sœur Mathilde, Krystian Adam as the Jailer, Roberto Accurso as Thierry, Eduardo Martínez as Monsieur Javelinot, Matthieu Justine as the First Commissioner, and Isaac Galán as the Second Commissioner.

A familiar and much-admired presence in Turin, Ekaterina Bakanova has previously been acclaimed at the Teatro Regio in the title role of Massenet’s Manon, as Pamina in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte, as Susanna in Le nozze di Figaro, as Musetta in La bohème, and as soprano soloist in Mozart’s Requiem, establishing a strong artistic bond with the house and its audiences.

About Ekaterina Bakanova:

After her debut at the Royal Opera House in London as Violetta Valery, Ekaterina Bakanova was praised by the press for her interpretative refinement and since then she has been called to the most prestigious stages, such as those of the Staatsoper of Dresden, the Arena of Verona, the Teatro Real in Madrid, the Teatro Liceo in Barcelona, the Royal Opera in Versailles, the Israeli Opera in Tel-Aviv and the Opera in Zurich, the NCPA Performing Arts Center in Beijing and others.
