LE NOZZE DI FIGARO | ERIKA GRIMALDI | WNO

Erika Grimaldi returns to the composer of her stage debut, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, debuting at the Welsh National Opera as the Countess Almaviva in Le nozze di Figaro, in a Tobias Richter production and under the musical direction of Kerem Hasan. She will sing alongside Michael Mofidian as the titular Figaro, Christina Gansch as Susanna, Giorgio Caoduro as Count Almaviva, Harriet Hayley as Cherubino, Wyn Pencarreg as Dottor Bartolo, Eiry Price as Barbarina, Jeffrey Lloyd-Roberts as Don Basilio/Don Curzio, and Monika Sawa as Marcellina. Performances are at the Wales Millennium Centre, Cardiff (April 9 and 12), Mayflower Theatre, Southampton (May 1 and 3), and Birmingham Hippodrome (May 8).

The Piedmontese soprano, who had previously sung Susanna in the same opera, debuted the role of the Countess in Montpellier in 2012, later reprising in Torino and at the Bolshoy Theater Moscow.
