On April 22 and 23, Pietari Inkinen conducts the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra. The first evening is devoted to Johannes Brahms’s brooding, monumental Symphony No. 1; the following night, he leads the same symphony in Richard Wagner’s Faust Overture and Béla Bartók’s Violin Concerto No. 2, with Isabelle Faust as soloist.

A familiar presence to Bergen audiences, the Finnish maestro has conducted the orchestra on several occasions, including appearances at the Canary Islands Music Festival.
