Pietari Inkinen conducts the opening concerts of the 82nd season of the Orchestra I Pomeriggi Musicali at Milan’s Teatro Dal Verme on October 8 and 10. The Finnish conductor is joined by pianist Sophia Liu for Fryderyk Chopin’s “Piano Concerto No. 2 in F minor.” Johannes Brahms’s “Symphony No. 1 in C minor” completes the program.

The concerts continue Pietari Inkinen’s long relationship with the Milan orchestra. In 2022, he conducted a program devoted to Anton Bruckner’s “Overture in G minor” and “Symphony No. 1.” He returned in 2024 for Robert Schumann’s “Piano Concerto” with Giuseppe Albanese and Ludwig van Beethoven’s “Symphony No. 3, ‘Eroica.’” His most recent appearances, in May 2025, featured Antonín Dvořák’s Eighth and Ninth symphonies.

Pietari Inkinen has served as Chief Conductor of the Deutsche Radio Philharmonie Saarbrücken Kaiserslautern, the Japan Philharmonic Orchestra, the Prague Symphony Orchestra, and the Ludwigsburg Festival Orchestra. He has also held leading posts with the KBS Symphony Orchestra and the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra. With the latter, he recorded the complete symphonies of Jean Sibelius for Naxos.
