On August 16, 2023, Erika Grimaldi will perform a concert at the Festival de Torroella de Montgrí in Spain, accompanied by pianist Albert Guinovart.
The event is a homage to the art of legendary soprano Victoria de los Angeles and will feature operatic arias and art songs that were part of her repertoire:
“Donde lieta uscì”, from Puccini’s “La bohème”, “Casta diva” from Bellini’s “Norma”, “Morrò, ma prima in grazia” from Verdi’s “Un ballo in maschera”, “Ave Maria” from Verdi’s “Otello”, “Qual fiamma avea nel guardo” from Leoncavallo’s “Pagliacci”, “Il mio bel foco” (Benedetto Marcello), “Se tu m’ami” (Pergolesi), “Ich grolle nicht” from the cycle Dichterliebe, Op. 48 (Schumann), “Vergebliches Ständchen” from  5 Romanzen und Gesänge, Op. 84 (Brahms), “Après un revê” de Trois mélodies (Fauré), “Canción de cuna para dormir a un negrito” from Cinco canciones negras (Montsalvage), «El tra la la y el Punteado» de 12 tonadillas en estilo antiguo (Granados). Maestro Guinovart will also perform solo piano pieces.

This coming fall, the Asti-born soprano will return to Spain with a tour of Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 in Madrid, Alicante, Barcelona, and Zaragoza.
