Erika Grimaldi continues her impressive string of role debuts this season, adding the role of Leonora di Vargas in a new Yannis Kokkos production of La forza del destino at the Teatro Comunale Bologna on June 17, 2023, the first of a series of three performances running through June 22. Maestro Asher Fisch leads a cast also including Roberto Aronica as Don Alvaro, Gabriele Viviani as Don Carlo di Vargas, Nino Surguladze as Preziosilla, Rafał Siwek as Padre Guardiano and Roberto de Candia as Fra Melitone.

Erika Grimaldi first graced the stage of the Teatro Comunale last fall as Maddalena di Coigny in Andrea Chénier, her first debut of the season; in February she sang the title role of Aida for the first time, at the Teatro Regio Torino, and in April, she debuted Lady Macbeth in Macbeth at the Korea National Opera.

Other upcoming role debuts include Amelia in Un ballo in maschera at the Zurich Opera, and Manon Lescaut in Puccini’s opera at the Teatro Comunale Bologna.
