On October 31, 2021, Etienne Dupuis will sing the role of Valentin in Faust at the Vienna State Opera, in a production by Frank Castorf conducted by Maestro Betrand de Billy, the first of a series of four performances running through November 11, sharing the stage with Francesco Demuro, Stephen Costello, John Osborn and Juan Diego Flórez as Faust, Rachel Willis-Sørensen as Marguerite, Adam Palka as Méphistophéles and Margaret Plummer as Siebel.

The Canadian baritone, who made his Vienna State Opera last spring when this Faust production was first unveiled.

He has already sung the role of Valentin in many prestigious opera houses such as the Deutsche Oper Berlin and the Opéra de Marseilles.
