On November 23, 2022, Etienne Dupuis will make his role debut as Hérode in a concert performance of Hérodiade at the Opéra de Lyon, under the musical direction of Maestro Daniele Rustioni. He will sing alongside Ekaterina Semenchuk in the title role, Nicole Car as Salomé and Saimir Pirgu as Jean. There will be a repeat performance on November 25 at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées in Paris.

The Quebecois baritone already appeared in 2020 at the Opéra de Lyon singing what he considers his dream role, the title role of Massenet’s Werther in its baritone version. He is not new to the stage of the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, having performed there the role of Jacques de Lusignan in the rarely heard La Reine de Chypre by Halévy.
