ETIENNE DUPUIS | IL TROVATORE | PARIS

On January 21, 2023, Etienne Dupuis will sing the role of Conte di Luna in Il trovatore at the Opéra national de Paris, in a new production by Alex Ollé and under the musical direction of Maestro Carlo Rizzi, the first of a series of nine performances running through February 17, 2023. He will share the stage with Yusif Eyvazov in the title role, Anna Pirozzi as Leonora, Judit Kutasi as Azucena and Roberto Tagliavini as Ferrando.

The Quebecois baritone, who made his role debut as Conte di Luna this past September at the Opéra de Montreal, has long been a favorite of the Opéra national de Paris audience, having appeared there as Don Giovanni in a new production of the Mozart masterpiece, Pelléas in Pelléas et Melisande, Oreste in Iphigénie en Tauride, Rodrigo di Posa in Don Carlo, Belcore in L’elisir d’amore and in a Tchaikovsky concert. He was recently greeted with a sensational success for his Hérode in two concert performances of Massenet’s Hérodiade at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées in Paris and the Auditorium of Lyon. Immediately after Il trovatore, Etienne Dupuis will sing the role of Escamillo in Carmen at the Opéra National de Paris.
