ETIENNE DUPUIS | DON CARLO | DEUTSCHE OPER BERLIN

On December 5, 2021, Etienne Dupuis sings the role of Rodrigo di Posa in Don Carlo at the Deutsche Oper Berlin, in a production by Marco Arturo Marelli and under the musical direction of James Gaffigan / Ivan Repusic, the first of a series of four performances running through December 18, 2021. He performs alongside Robert Watson in the title role, Nicole Car as Elisabetta di Valois, Alex Esposito as Filippo II, Yulia Matochina as Eboli, and Albert Pesendorfer as the Great Inquisitor.

The Quebecois baritone made his acclaimed debut the role of Rodrigo in Don Carlo in the same production at the Deutsche Oper Berlin in 2015, where he also performed many other roles of his repertoire, including Evgenij Onegin, Figaro in Il barbiere di Siviglia, Zurga in Les pêcheurs de perles, Pelléas in Pelléas et Melisande, Giorgio Germont in La traviata, Valentin in Faust and Marcello il La bohème.

Etienne Dupuis will return to the role of Rodrigo di Posa in February and March in a new production of the French version of the piece at the Metropolitan Opera, including a Live in HD transmission in cinemas worldwide on March 26.
