ÉTIENNE DUPUIS IN LE NOZZE DI FIGARO AT THE METROPOLITAN OPERA

On February 5, 2020, Étienne Dupuis will sing the role of Conte d’Almaviva in Le nozze di Figaro at the Metropolitan Opera New York, in a production by Sir Richard Eyre and under the musical direction of Maestro Cornelius Meister, the first of a series of three performances running through February 22, 2020. He will share the stage with Adam Plachetka as Figaro, Hanna-Elisabeth Müller as Susanna, Anita Hartig as Contessa Almaviva and Marianne Crebassa as Cherubino.

Étienne Dupuis, who has already sung the role of Conte d’Almaviva for Calgary Opera, made his Metropolitan Opera debut as Marcello in La bohème in the 2018/2019 season.

Immediately after his appearances in Le nozze di Figaro, the Quebecois baritone will remain at the Metropolitan Opera for performances as Albert in Werther.

Other upcoming engagements include Athanaël in Thaïs and his role debut as Don Carlo in La forza del destino at the Deutsche Oper Berlin, the title role in Eugene Onegin for Opera Australia at the Sydney Opera House and Faure’s Requiem at the Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal.
