ETIENNE DUPUIS | MACBETH | WASHINGTON, DC

Double debut for Etienne Dupuis, who, on November 13, 2024, will sing for the first time for the Washington National Opera in Washington, DC, by adding a new role to his repertoire, Verdi’s Macbeth, in a new Brenna Corner production led by Evan Rogister. He will sing alongside Ewa Płonka as Lady Macbeth, Kang Wang as Macduff, and Solomon Howard as Banco. Five additional performances will occur on November 15, 17, 19, 21, and 23.

The last couple of seasons has seen the Quebecois baritone sinking his teeth into the most iconic Verdi repertoire with an impressive series of universally praised high-profile debuts: Conte di Luna in Il trovatore at the Opéra de Montreal and later at the Opéra Bastille Paris, Don Carlo di Vargas in La forza del destino at the ROH, Covent Garden London, and Rigoletto at the Teatro Real Madrid and with the Covent Garden on tour to Japan while continuing to perform his older Verdi roles, Germont in La traviata, and Rodrigo di Posa in Don Carlo.
