On October 31, 2023, Frédéric Chaslin will conduct Les Contes d’Hoffmann at the Semperoper Dresden, in a production by Johannes Erath. The cast includes Eric Cutler in the title role, Kathryn Lewek as Olympia, Hrachuhí Bassénz as Antonia, Magdalena Anna Hofmann as Giulietta, Štěpánka Pučálková as Nicklausse/The Muse, Egil Silins as the Four Villains. There will be four additional performances on November 4, 8, 16, 2023.

Frédéric Chaslin, conductor, pianist but also renowned scholar, is an expert on the score and complex, multi-layered story of this opera fantastique, which he has championed in many prestigious International opera companies such as the Metropolitan Opera New York,  Vienna State Opera, Semperoper Dresden, Teatro La Fenice Venice.

A DVD/Blu-Ray of his performances at the Macerata Opera Festival has been published by Dynamic.
