GABRIELA SCHERER | ELEKTRA | DRESDEN

New role debut for Gabriela Scherer who on March 29, 2024, sings her first Chrysothemis in Elektra at the Semperoper Dresden, in a production by Barbara Fray led by Marc Albrecht. She will sing alongside Lise Lindstrom in the title role, Doris Soffel as Klytämnestra, Jürgen Müller as Aegisth and John Lundgren as Orest in the main parts. There will be two additional shows on April 1 and 5.

This is the second debut in a major role for the Swiss soprano who, just last month, added to her repertoire the part of Leonore in Fidelio at the Teatro São Carlos in Lisbon to rave reviews.

Gabriela Scherer’s engagements for the rest of the season include Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni at the Staatsoper Berlin, her signature role of Senta in Der fliegende Holländer at the Deutsch Oper am Rhein and Gutrune in Götterdämmerung at the Bayreuth Festival.
