George Gagnidze is making his debut at the Teatro Comunale Bologna on April 13, 2024, in one of his signature roles, Macbeth, in a new production by Jacopo Gassman and under the musical direction of Daniel Oren. He will share the stage with Daniela Schillaci / Ekaterina Semenchuk as Lady Macbeth, Riccardo Fassi as Banco, Antonio Poli alternating with Paolo Antognetti as Macduff, Marco Miglietta as Malcolm, Anna Cimmarrusti as Dama di Lady Macbeth, Kwangisk Park as the Doctor, Gabriele Ribis as a Servant/Hitman/Harald. There will be an additional performance on April 18.

The Georgian baritone made his debut as the villainous Scottish King at the Metropolitan Opera New York in 2012 and reprised it, always to rave reviews, at the Teatro Carlo Felice of Genoa, the Ópera de Las Palmas, and most recently at the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofia in Valencia.
