HULKAR SABIROVA | LES VÊPRES SICILIENNES | BERLIN

On March 20, Hulkar Sabirova will perform the role of Hélène in the premiere of Les vêpres siciliennes at the Deutsche Oper Berlin, in a new production by Olivier Py and under the musical direction of Enrique Mazzola.

There will be two runs of the production, with the premiere series running through April 5. The second series with an alternative cast will run from June 16 to June 25. Hulkar Sabirova will share the stage with Piero Pretti and Valentyn Dytiuk alternating as Henri, Thomas Lehman and Michael Volle as Guy de Montfort, Roberto Tagliavini and Patrick Guetti as Jean de Procida.

The German soprano with Uzbek origin, who is making her role debut as Hélène, has been enjoying a long and fruitful association with the Deutsche Oper. After first receiving a Weisweiler scholarship and being a member of the house ensemble for three years, she was subsequently entrusted with iconic roles such as Lucia di Lammermoor, the soprano soloist part in Verdi’s Messa da Requiem and Madama Cortese in Il viaggio a Reims.
