IRINA LUNGU AS DONNA ANNA IN DON GIOVANNI IN GENEVA

On December 12, 2019 Irina Lungu will sing Donna Anna in one-off concert performance of Don Giovanni at the Victoria Hall, Geneva with the Chorus and Orchestra of the Vienna State Opera under the musical direction of Maestro Michael Güttler. She will share the stage with Samuel Hasselhorn in the title role, Riccardo Fassi as Leporello, Federica Lombardi as Donna Elvira, Benjamin Bruns as Don Ottavio, Daniela Fally as Zerlina, Dan Paul Dumitrescu as Commendatore and Clemens Unterreiner as Masetto.

Irina Lungu has made a specialty of the role of Donna Anna, having debuted it at the Arena Verona in 2015 and subsequently performed it to constant rave reviews at the Estates Theatre Prague (where Mozart’s masterpiece was premiered), the Festival Internacional Santander, and for two consecutive seasons at the Vienna State Opera, where she will also reprise it in May 2020. The Verona and the Prague performances have been recorded and immortalized on DVD/Blu-Rays.

Other upcoming engagements for the Russian soprano include Mimì in La bohème at the Opéra de Monte-Carlo and the Teatro Lirico Cagliari, Marguerite in Faust at the Sydney Opera House, and her role debut as the soprano soloist in Verdi’s Messa da Requiem at the Zaryadye Hall Moscow.
