On December 6 and 8, 2018 Irina Lungu will return to the Korea National Opera in Seoul, reprising the role of Mimì in La bohème. The production is by Marco Gandini, Shiyeon Sung will conduct. Ho Yoon Chung, Hye Myung Kang, Dong Hwan Lee, Kyu Seob Yoon, Ki Hyun Park, Sang Wook Park and Ji Hoon Sohn will sing the other roles.

Irina Lungu will return to the Korea National Opera following highly acclaimed performances as Juliette in Roméo et Juliette in 2014. She made her role debut as Mimì in concert with the Teatro Regio of Turin at the Stresa Festival in 2008 and later sang it at the Novaya Opera Theatre in Moscow, the Teatro Regio of Turin and the Teatro San Carlo of Naples. She also enjoyed success singing the role of Musetta at theatres such as the Metropolitan Opera and the Royal Opera House Covent Garden.

After this Bohème in Seoul Irina Lungu will perform concerts in Valencia, Beijing and Paris, will make her role debut as Elettra in Idomeneo at the Wiener Staatsoper, where she will also sing Norina in Don Pasquale and will return to Covent Garden as Marguerite in Faust and to the Staatsoper Hamburg in the title role of La traviata.
