Irina Lungu makes her debut at the Teatro Colón Buenos Aires on September 5, 2023, as Fiorilla in Il turco in Italia, in a Pablo Maritano production under the musical direction of Jordi Bernàcer. She will share the stage with Erwin Schrott in the title role, Fabio Capitanucci as Don Geronio, Santiago Ballerini as Don Narciso, Germán Alcántara as Prosdocimo, Francesca Di Sauro as Zaida and Santiago Martínez as Albazar. There will be two additional performances on September 7 and 10.

Irina Lungu made her role debut as Donna Fiorilla in 2009 at the Teatro Carlo Felice Genova, reprising it in 2022 at the Bavarian State Opera Munich to high acclaim.

After this opera buffa, Irina Lungu travels to Japan, to the New National Theatre Tokyo to debut the role of Amelia Grimaldi in Simon Boccanegra.
