JACQUELYN WAGNER TO TAKE PART IN BEETHOVEN CONCERTS IN VIENNA AND PARIS

On January 11, 2020, Jacquelyn Wagner will participate in “The Concert of 22 December 1808” at the Vienna Konzerthaus under Maestro Philippe Jordain leading the Vienna Symphony; other performers include pianist Nicholas Angelich, soprano Miriam Kutrowatz, alto Anke Vondung, tenors Allan Clayton and Frantz Gürtelschmied, and bass-baritone Hanno Müller-Brachmann. The event will be repeated at the Philharmonie de Paris on January 18, 2020.

“The Beethoven concert of 22 December 1808” (Beethoven: Große Akademie von 1808) was a benefit concert held for Ludwig van Beethoven at the Theater an der Wien in Vienna that featured the public premieres of Beethoven’s Fifth and Sixth Symphonies, the Fourth Piano Concerto and the Choral Fantasy. Of the non-premiered works, Jacquelyn Wagner will also interpret the famous concert aria “Ah, perfido!”, in addition to taking part to the Choral Fantasy and the Mass in C major.

Other upcoming engagements for the American soprano include her role debut as Alcina at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein in Dusseldorf, Donna Anna in Don Giovanni and Fiordiligi in Così fan tutte at the Opéra National de Paris, and Mahler Symphony No.2 with the Vienna Symphony at the Vienna Musikverein.
