MAGDALENA ANNA HOFMANN AS ISOLDE IN HAGEN

On April 7, 2019 Magdalena Anna Hofmann will make her role debut as Isolde in  Jochen Biganzoli’s new production of Tristan und Isolde at Theater Hagen. Joseph Trafton will conduct, the other parts will be sung by Zoltán Nyári (Tristan), Dong-Won Seo (König Marke), Khatuna Mikaberidze (Brangäne), Wieland Satter (Kurwenal), Richard van Gemert (Melot), Khatuna Mikaberidze (Brangäne), Daniel Jenz (Ein Hirte & Stimme eines jungen Seemanns) and Egidijus Urbonas (Ein Steuermann).

Isolde is Magdalena Anna Hofmann’s seventh Wagner role. Wagnerian parts she already has under her belt include Venus in Tannhäuser, Kundry in Parsifal, Senta in Der fliegende Holländer, Elsa in Lohengrin, Gutrune in Götterdämmerung and Sieglinde in Die Walküre.

After this Tristan in Hagen, the Polish-Austrian soprano will return to Minden as Gutrune and Sieglinde and will make her role and house debut as Leonore in Fidelio at the Teatro Comunale of Bologna.
