MAHLER | DOMINGO HINDOYAN | LIVERPOOL

Chief Conductor Domingo Hindoyan leads the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra in two contrasting programs at Liverpool Philharmonic Hall in October.

On October 1, the Venezuelan conductor leads Gustav Mahler’s monumental Symphony No. 2, “Resurrection.” The performance brings together the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and Choir, joined by soprano Lucy Crowe and mezzo-soprano Natalie Lewis, for one of Gustav Mahler’s most ambitious and profoundly moving works.

Three days later, on October 4, Domingo Hindoyan leads the Classic FM Hall of Fame concert, celebrating the orchestra’s 25-year relationship with Classic FM. Presented by Aled Jones, the wide-ranging program includes music by John Williams, Ludwig van Beethoven, Ralph Vaughan Williams, Samuel Barber, Benjamin Britten, Léo Delibes, Aram Khachaturian, William Walton, Klaus Badelt, and Arturo Márquez. It also features the world premiere of Arian, a new work by British composer Dani Howard written especially to mark the anniversary.
