On February 10, 2022, Maria José Siri makes her Greek debut as Maddalena di Coigny in Andrea Chénier at the Greek National Opera of Athens, the first of two performances with the last one taking place on February 13. The shows at the Stavros Niarchos Hall are conducted by Philippe Auguin and also feature Marcelo Puente in the title role and Dimitri Platanias as Carlo Gérard. The staging is by Nikos Petropoulos and premiered in January.
The role of Maddalena di Coigny has brought Maria José Siri to stages around the world: to the Wiener Staatsoper, New National Theatre Tokyo, Royal Opera Stockholm, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Teatro dell’Opera Rome, Teatro Regio Turin and the Bregenz Festival, where she made her role debut in 2012.
Performances after this Andrea Chénier in Athens include Manon Lescaut at the Las Palmas Opera, Tosca at the Teatro Verdi of Trieste, Nabucco at the Deutsche Oper Berlin, Aida at the Semperoper Dresden and gala concerts with Plácido Domingo in Buenos Aires, Versailles and Baden-Baden.
