On March 31, April 2, 5 and 7, 2017 soprano Maria Mudryak will take part in gala events entitled “Avrò dunque sognato” celebrating the fifty years of baritone Leo Nucci’s career, part of the 2016/2017 season of the Teatro Municipale of Piacenza and of the Teatro Comunale Luciano Pavarotti of Modena. The concerts will be conducted by Maestro Aldo Sisillo and semi-staged by Salvo Piro. In addition to Ms. Mudryak, other young singers including Marco Ciaponi, Clarissa Costanzo, Nicolò Donini, Federica Gatta, Juliusz Loranzi, Cristian Saitta, Simone Tansini, Leonora Tess, Alessandro Viola will join Leo Nucci in arias and scenes from Luisa Miller, Un ballo in maschera and Rigoletto.
The young soprano is thrilled at the prospect of sharing the stage with Leo Nucci: “It is for me an immense honor to sing with this great baritone and great artist. I am very grateful to him for having choosen me to sing the three roles Luisa, Oscar and Gilda and I’ll do all I can to deserve his faith in me!”
Besides these gala concerts Maria Mudryak’s 2016 / 2017 engagements include Violetta in La traviata at the Teatro San Carlo Naples, the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino and at the Teatro Carlo Felice Genoa, Susanna in Le nozze di Figaro at the Teatro San Carlo Naples, Valencienne in The Merry Widow at the Opera House NCPA China, Musetta in La bohème at the NCPA Mumbai and Mimì in La bohème at the Astana Opera. Born in Kazakhstan of Russian descent, Maria Mudryak moved to Italy at the age of 10 to pursue her vocal training and studied singing at the Milan Conservatory. She has been the winner of several prestigious contests including the 65th Aslico Competition for European Young Singers.
