On August 18 and 20, 2024, at the Graz Kasematten, Michael Volle and Gabriela Scherer will participate in Der Ring an einem Abend (fast) Ohne Worte (The Ring in One Evening (almost) Without Words), an event presenting the highlights of Richard Wagner’s tetralogy “The Ring of the Nibelung” in just one evening, featuring the most spectacular orchestral pieces from Wagner’s masterpiece as well as the most emotional vocal parts from the operas’ finales. Marcus Merkel will lead members of the Graz Philharmonic Orchestra. Other Wagnerian stars like Elena Pankratova and Klaus Florian Vogt will also participate. Michael Volle, possibly the leading Wotan of our time, will be singing some of his most memorable pages. In contrast, Gabriela Scherer will sing Siegliende’s music from Act I of Die Walküre.
