On July 12, 2024, Michael Volle takes part in one of the Classic Am Odeons Platz concerts, singing the role of Wotan in the Act III finale of Die Walküre alongside Anja Kampe as Brünnhilde, with Sir Simon Rattle conducting the Bayerischer Rundfunk Symphony Orchestra. The program also includes “The Ride of the Valkyries” and Johannes Brahms’s Symphony No. 2 in D Major.

The same program will be repeated at the Stadttheater Ingolstadt on July 13 and in Bad Kissinger within the Kissinger Sommer Festival on July 14.

The Freudenstadt-born baritone is one of the most celebrated interpreters of Wotan/Wanderer, which he has performed in the most prestigious festivals and opera houses around the world, such as the Teatro alla Scala Milan, the Metropolitan Opera, Staatsoper Berlin, Hessisches Staatstheater Wiesbaden, and Bayerische Staatsoper, to name but a few.
