On July 7, 8, and 9, 2024, at the Staatskapelle Dresden, Michael Volle will sing the baritone solo part (Pater Ecstaticus) in Gustav Mahler’s Symphony No. 8, also known as “Symphony of a Thousand”, with Christian Thielemann conducting the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester, Chor des Bayerischen Rundfunks,
State Opera Chorus Dresden, and the Semperoper Children’s Choir. He will share the stage with sopranos Camilla Nylund, Ricarda Merbeth, and Regula Mühlemann, contraltos Štěpánka Pučálková and Christa Mayer, tenor David Butt Philip, and bass Georg Zeppenfeld.
