One of our time’s greatest interpreters of the lieder art, Michael Volle brings his highly celebrated rendition of Franz Schubert’s Winterreise on February 23, 2024 to the Gran Teatre del Liceu Barcelona, accompanied by Helmut Deutsche on the piano. Unlike most liederabend, this Winterreise will be enhanced by the concept, spatial design and images of famed photographer, essayist and critic Joan Fontcuberta in his first stage proposal.

The German baritone showcases his immense versatility by performing this deeply introspective pinnacle of the German lied tradition in the middle of a run of the quintessential sparkling Viennese operetta, Die lustige Witwe, at the Zurich Opera.
