NICOLE CAR AS MICAËLA IN CARMEN AT THE OPÉRA NATIONAL DE PARIS

On April 11, 2019, Nicole Car will return to the Opéra National de Paris as Micaëla in Carmen, conducted by Lorenzo Viotti in a staging by Calixto Bieito. There will be eight further performances, running through May 5, 2019. The cast will feature Anita Rachvelishvili in the title role, Jean‑François Borras/Roberto Alagna as Don José, and Roberto Tagliavini as Escamillo, among others.

As Micaëla, Ms. Car has been hailed by critics for her show stealing luminosity and affecting sweetness. In 2015 she made her house debut at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden in the role.

Following these performances, Nicole Car will sing Donna Elvira in a new production of Don Giovanni at the Palais Garnier in summer, before returning to Paris in the 2019/2020 season to make her role debut as Elisabetta in Verdi’s Don Carlo.
