On September 10, 2023 Pietari Inkinen inaugurates the 2023/24 season of the Deutsche Radio Philharmonie with a concert entitled “Gefühlsstürme” at the Saarbrücken, Congresshalle. The program includes Richard Wagner’s Overture to “Tannhäuser”, Johannes Brahms’s “Symphony No. 3 in F Major, op. 90”, and Sergey Rachmaninov’s “Piano Concerto No. 3 in d minor, op. 30, where he joins forces with pianist Yeol Eum Son.
Subsequently, he and the DRP leave for a week-long South Korean tour presenting the same program and guest artists, in towns such as Seoul (September 13 and 14), Cheonan (September 15), Gwangju (September 16), Tongyeong (September 17), Busan (September 19), and Bucheon (September 20).
Back in Germany, Pietari Inkinen and the DRP will perform the same program at the Ludwigshafen, BASF-Feierabendhaus on September 28 with Evgeny Kissin as piano soloist. The following day at the Kaiserslautern, Fruchthalle, Alexandr Skrjabin’s “Piano Concerto in F sharp minor, op. 20” replaces the Rachmaninov’s piano concerto, played by pianist Alexander Gadjiev.
On October 2, Pietari Inkinen and the DRP will perform at the Luxembourg Philharmonie in a program including three pieces from Bedřich Smetana’s “Má vlast”: “Vyšehrad”, “Vltava”, “Šárka”, as well as Sergey Rachmaninov’s “Piano Concerto No. 3 in d minor, op. 30, where he leads pianist Evgeny Kissin.
