PIETARI INKINEN | TANNHÄUSER | BERLIN

On November 11, 2023, Pietari Inkinen makes his debut at the Deutsche Oper Berlin conducting his first Tannhäuser, in a production by Kirsten Harms starring Stephen Gould in the title role, Elisabeth Teige as Venus and Elisabeth, Samuel Hasselhorn as Wolfram and Tobias Kehrer as Landgraf Hermann.

The Finnish Maestro this past summer scored a resounding success with critics and audiences alike leading Der Ring des Nibelungen at the Bayreuth Festival, the first Fin to do so in the history of that prestigious institution.

Earlier, he had led the tetralogy with great success at Opera Australia in Melbourne, for which he received the Helpmann Award in 2014 and the Green Room Award for Best Opera Conductor in 2016, and recorded a CD with arias and orchestral pieces with tenor Simon O’Neill for EMI.
