RICCARDO MASSI IN TURANDOT AT THE MET

On October 19, 23 and 26, 2019, Riccardo Massi will sing Calaf in Turandot at the Metropolitan Opera New York in the legendary Franco Zeffirelli production under the musical direction of Maestros Yannick Nézet-Séguin and Marco Armiliato. He will share the stage with Christine Goerke in the title role, Eleonora Buratto and Gabriella Reyes as Liù and James Morris as Timur.

Riccardo Massi has already interpreted this part to wide acclaim in several high-profile stagings in the major international opera houses and festivals, including a new production at the Bregenz Festival, a highly spectacular open-air mise-en-scène on the Sydney Harbour in Australia (recorded and released on DVD by ABC Classic), and others in Zurich, Stockholm and Mexico. The Marches-born tenor is already a very familiar name to MET opera-goers, having already performed on that prestigious stage as Radames in Aida in the 2011/2012 and 2016/2017 seasons.

After this New York Turandot, Riccardo Massi’s upcoming engagements include Cavaradossi in Tosca at the Dresden Semperoper and Bavarian State Opera Munich, Radames in Aida and a gala concert at the Mikhailovsky Theatre Saint Petersburg, Manrico in Il trovatore at the Bavarian State Opera, Des Grieux in Manon Lescaut at the Teatro Carlo Felice Genoa and his role debut as Zamoro in Alzira at the Opéra Royal de Wallonie-Liège.
