Riccardo Massi to inaugurate the 2017/18 season of the Los Angeles Opera

On September 9, 2017 Riccardo Massi will make his Los Angeles Opera debut as Don José in a Ron Daniels production of Carmen that will inaugurate L.A. Opera’s 2017/2018 season. Conducted by Maestro James Conlon, he will appear alongside Ana María Martínez in the title role, Amanda Woodbury as Micäela and Alexander Vinogradov as Escamillo. It will be the first of four performances running through September 28.

The Italian tenor has already performed Bizet’s masterpieces in prestigious opera companies such as the Deutsche Oper Berlin and at the Kaohsung Spring Arts Festival Taiwan.

After this Los Angeles Carmen, engagements for Riccardo Massi’s 2017/2018 season include Cavaradossi in Tosca at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, the Staatsoper Hamburg and the Palm Beach Opera, Radamès in Aida at the Hong Kong Opera, Opera Australia and at the Teatro Colón Buenos Aires, Des Grieux in Manon Lescaut at the Bolshoi Theatre as well as his role debut as Foresto in Attila at the Lyon Opera House and at the Théâtre du Champs-Elysées of Paris.
