SAIMIR PIRGU IN LA BOHÈME AT LA OPERA

On September 14, 2019, Saimir Pirgu will inaugurate the 2019/2020 season of the Los Angeles Opera as Rodolfo in La bohème, in a production by Barrie Kosky under the musical direction of Maestro James Conlon, the first of a series of six performances running through October 6, 2019. He will share the stage with Marina Costa-Jackson as Mimì, Erica Petrocelli as Musetta, Kihun Yoon as Marcello, Nicholas Brownlee as Colline and Michael J. Hawk as Schaunard.

Saimir Pirgu’s appearances as Rodolfo in La bohème include performances at the Gran Teatre del Liceu Barcelona (two different productions), at the Washington National Opera and in a production for the Swiss Television which was broadcast all over the world. In December, he will sing it for the first time at the Wiener Staatsoper.

The Albanian born, Italian naturalized tenor is a well-known name to Los Angeles audiences, having previously appeared as Rinuccio in Gianni Schicchi in 2008, Ferrando in Così fan tutte in 2011 and Edgardo in Lucia di Lammermoor in 2014.
