On January 29, 2019 Saimir Pirgu will return to the Vienna State Opera to sing Alfredo Germont in Jean-François Sivadier’s new staging of La traviata conducted by Marco Armiliato. Ekaterina Siurina will sing Violetta, Ludovic Tézier Germont. There will be two repeat performances on February 1 and 4.

Saimir Pirgu just sang his 100th performance as Alfredo in Deborah Warner’s new production at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées last month. Other theatres he performed the role include the Bavarian State Opera, the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, the San Francisco Opera and the Metropolitan Opera.

After this Traviata at the Vienna State Opera Saimir Pirgu will sing his first viennese performances as Faust in La damnation de Faust at the Konzerthaus conducted by Philippe Jordan in February.
