On January 7, 2020, Saimir Pirgu will join forces with soprano Vannina Santoni in an operatic concert at the Théâtre des Champs-Elisées Paris, under the musical direction of Maestro Paolo Arrivabeni leading the Orchestre de l’Opéra Royal de Wallonie-Liège.
Saimir Pirgu and Vannina Santoni, who have already appeared together in this same prestigious Paris theater in December 2018 as Alfredo and Violetta in La traviata, respectively, this time will sing “love arias and duets” by Mozart, Verdi, Donizetti, Massenet, Gounod, Cilea and Puccini.
After this Paris concert, upcoming engagements for the Albanian born, Italian naturalized tenor include role debuts as Lenskij in Evgenij Onegin at the Rome Opera and as Amleto in Faccio’s homonymous opera at the Teatro Filarmonico Verona, the tenor soloist part in Verdi’s Messa da Requiem at the Rome Opera, Edgardo in Lucia di Lammermoor at the Royal Opera House London and Don José in Carmen at the Teatro San Carlo Naples.
