On October 7, 10 and 13, 2020, Sonya Yoncheva will sing the title role of Tosca at the Bavarian State Opera Munich in a production by Luc Bondy and under the musical direction of Maestro Asher Fisch. She will perform alongside Stefano La Colla as Cavaradossi and Bryn Terfel as Scarpia.
Sonya Yoncheva made her highly acclaimed debut as Floria Tosca in a new production by David McVicar during the 2017/2018 season of the Metropolitan Opera, and has since then performed it at the Berlin State Opera. At the Bavarian State Opera, she has also been greeted as Violetta in La traviata and Mimì in La bohème. In January, the Bulgarian soprano will return to Munich making her title role debut in Puccini’s Manon Lescaut and next summer she will sing a recital accompanied by Malcolm Martineau at the Munich Prinzregententheater.
