On October 5, 2023, Sonya Yoncheva will make her much-awaited Argentinian debut at the storied Teatro Colón Buenos Aires, presenting “Ad una Stella”, a program she has been performing for several years in the most prestigious concert halls and festivals throughout the world to invariable acclaim.

The program, which focuses on but is not limited to the Italian art song, includes music by Puccini, Martucci, Tosti, Verdi, and Albéniz. Malcolm Martineau, like always in the past, will accompany her on the piano.

Three days later, the Bulgarian soprano will sing for the first time in Uruguay, presenting the same program at the Centro Cultural de Música, Auditorio Nacional del Sodre in Montevideo.

On the occasion of a similar program on the stage of the Metropolitan Opera, The New York Times wrote: “In works by Martucci, Tosti and Verdi, her phrasing had confidence and style, a carefully constructed but persuasive evocation of naturalness…”
