On June 21, Arte and RTS 2 will telecast a special performance of Ludwig van Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony with Sonya Yoncheva starring in the soprano part. The concert was recorded earlier this month at the Victoria Hall of Geneva, respecting the current security measures due to the pandemic and was filmed without an audience. The orchestra, choir, soloists and conductor are being placed according to social distancing rules.

Other soloists include Marie-Claude Chappuis, Mauro Peter and Manuel Walser, while Jonathan Nott conducts the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande (OSR), the Choir of the Grand Théâtre de Genève and the Zürcher Sing-Akademie.

Later this summer, Sonya Yoncheva will appear in concert at the Salzburg Festival, the Arena di Verona and at the Roman Theatre of her home town Plovdiv.
