SONYA YONCHEVA IN THE “MET STARS LIVE IN CONCERT” SERIES

On February 27, 2021, Sonya Yoncheva will sing a recital as part of the “Met Stars Live in Concert” accompanied by Julien Quentin on the piano. The Bulgarian soprano will perform from the library of the Schussenried Cloister in southwest Germany.

The “Met Stars Live in Concert” series features a line-up of some of the Metropolitan Opera most beloved singers, giving the Met audience and others around the world an opportunity to remain in touch with their favorite artists through live and on-demand streaming in such a difficult time when the Metropolitan Opera has been forced to close down because of the Covid-19 pandemia.

Sonya Yoncheva will perform a tour-de-force program of arias from Verdi’s Aida and Il trovatore; Puccini’s Madama Butterfly, La Bohème and Le Villi; Dvořák’s Rusalka, Massenet’s Manon and ThaÏs, Purcell’s Dido and Æneas, and Handel’s Rinaldo.
