SONYA YONCHEVA TO ENJOY A RICH SUMMER CONCERT AND RECITAL SCHEDULE

Sonya Yoncheva is looking forward to an extremely rich and thrilling summer on the concert and recital platform.

On June 18, she will take part in the 10th edition of the grand gala Musiques en fête at the antique theatre of Orange. Opening the 2021 edition of the Chorégies d’Orange, the evening will be broadcast on the French TV channel France 3, on France.tv and on the radio channel France Musique at 21:05h Central European Time on the 18th. There will be an additional telecast on TV5 Monde on June 25 at 21:00h CET.

Besides Sonya, the gala will see performances by Ermonela Jaho, Laurent Gerra, Béatrice Uria Monzon, Nemanja Radulovic, Javier Camarena, Patrizia Ciofi, Imany, Lucienne Renaudin Vary, Ildar Abdrazakov, Cyrille Dubois, Marina Viotti, Ambroisine Bré, Florian Laconi, Sara Blanch Freixes, Nicolas Cavallier, Jeanne Gérard, Thomas Bettinger, Lionel Lhote, Fabienne Conrad, Erminie Blondel, Faustine De Monès, Irene Olvera, the children’s choir Pop The Opéra, the Choir of the Opéra de Monte Carlo and the Maîtrise des Bouches-du-Rhône. Luciano Acocella and Didier Benetti will conduct the Orchestre de Cannes PACA.

The soprano will bring her celebrated program “Ad una Stella” at the Théâtre du Capitole of Toulouse on July 19 accompanied by Antoine Palloc and two days later to the Bayerische Staatsoper’s Munich Opera Festival, where she appears at the Prinzregententheater accompanied by Malcolm Martineau.

On July 24, Sonya returns to the Festspielhaus Baden-Baden, presenting arias from Aida, Il trovatore, Iolanta, Rusalka, La bohème and Madama Butterfly, with Domingo Hindoyan leading the Würth Philharmoniker.

Making her Slovenian debut, she sings for the first time at the Ljubljana Festival on July 27. Sharing the stage with tenor Branko Robinšak, she sings an all-Puccini program with arias and duets from Le Villi, La bohème, Tosca, Manon Lescaut and Madama Butterfly, with Francesco Ivan Ciampa conducting the SNG Opera and Ballet Ljubljana Orchestra.

On July 30, Sonya Yoncheva and Domingo Hindoyan close this year’s Festival Radio France Occitanie Montpellier with a Carte blanche concert featuring music chosen by the two artists which is being revealed at a later time. The concert with the Orchestre National Montpellier Occitanie is recorded by France Musique for a future radio broadcast.

On August 13, the Bulgarian soprano returns to the Salzburg Festival (at the Haus für Mozart) where she performs songs by Verdi and Tosti as well as “Tacea la notte placida” from Il trovatore with the Donizetti Opera Ensemble.

To wrap up the series of summer concerts, on August 31, Sonya Yoncheva join forces with Plácido Domingo appearing at a much-awaited gala concert at the St. Alexander Nevsky Square in Sofia.
